Meet Cincinnati’s first minority-owned brewery, Esoteric Brewing Co.

Anecdotal, but true: I don’t even need to take off my socks to count the number of people of color I’ve met through craft beer. It would seem I’m far from the only one with that experience. According to a recent article published on PorchDrinker.com, there are just over 60 Black-owned craft breweries in the United States. That’s slightly more than the number of breweries in just Greater Cincinnati. Among those listed is Esoteric Brewing Co., the Queen City’s first and only minority-owned and operated brewery. Co-founded by former MadTree brewer Brian Jackson and serial entrepreneur Marvin Abrinica, Esoteric aims to become the centerpiece of the revitalization of Walnut Hills while working to maintain the neighborhood’s diversity.
